Ruth Bruegger, Violin
Ruth Bruegger is a Southern California violinist who has had a long and diverse career in music, beginning shortly after she graduated from UCLA in the late 70s, having studied violin with Melhi Mehta and Kathy Lenski. She has been a member of many community orchestras, including, but not limited to, Long Beach, Santa Barbara, Pasadena, Palm Desert, Mariposa, San Fernando Valley, and Garden Grove.
Ruth has also remained concertmaster of the San Fernando Valley Symphony for several years, and has spent her career mainly in Southern California with short tours of Paris and the United States. Performing for audiences ranging in attendance from 1 to 12,000, she has worked with Eric Clapton, Andrea Bocelli, and even played during the opening of Korea’s baseball league at Dodger Stadium!
She has also been active in the recording and film scoring industry, enjoying the camaraderie of other Los Angeles musicians in playing soundtracks to movies, rock ‘n roll, and pop albums, including Aerosmith, Madonna, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Willie Nelson, Green Day, and Brian McKnight, to name a few.
Chamber music is, of course, the love of most classical musicians and Ruth is very happy to be a part of tonight’s performance with the San Fernando Valley Symphony Orchestra and the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale.
